Before going on vacation, let me announce the program of the Seminar “Slavery, Memory, and African Diasporas” of the Department of History at Howard University, which I convene since 2012.
Yes ! The seminar is completing its fifth anniversary this Fall 2016. We have inspired the creation of other similar seminars in the DC area, and although we are small, of course we continue to be the best slavery seminar in the entire western hemisphere !
The seminar meets on Wednesdays, three or four times in the Fall semester and three or four times in the Spring semester at the main campus of Howard University from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
All participants must read the papers prior to the meetings and register to receive the seminar’s email list with pre-circulated papers. All those who read the papers are welcome to attend. For more information, contact me at aaraujo@howard.edu.
